UKC Round 4 Race Report - Rowrah

UKC Round 4 Race Report - Rowrah

The TB Kart UK team made their way north to Rowrah in Cumbria for Round 4 of the Ultimate Karting Championship, an event that tested every driver across changing conditions and a field stacked with talent. Located in a disused quarry, Rowrah is a truly unique venue in British karting. Known for its fast, flowing layout and dramatic elevation changes, it’s a circuit that rewards both technical precision and racing instinct. With its unforgiving nature, Rowrah often separates the contenders from the pretenders and this weekend was no exception.

Louis Harvey showed electric pace in every session, always in the mix at the front and looking sharp throughout the heats. He was dialled in from the get-go and looked set to deliver a standout result in the final. Unfortunately, a post-race disqualification meant his efforts went unrewarded. A frustrating end, but a performance that proves Louis is a serious threat when everything clicks.

Riley Bishop was on form from the very first lap. Topping practice sessions and delivering clean, fast heats, Riley positioned himself well going into finals day. In the final, he kept his cool under pressure and brought home a well-deserved P3 finish, stepping onto the podium after a weekend of near-flawless driving. A mature drive and a big result in a competitive field.

Lewis Sumner continued to show strong form, carrying serious speed into every heat. He battled hard across the opening sessions and positioned himself solidly for the final. Although things didn’t quite fall his way in the closing race, Lewis held his own in a tough front-pack fight and showed real race craft under pressure. Lewis now sits 4th in the championship overall, a testament to his consistency and front-running pace throughout the season.

Elliot Foster’s weekend started brightly, with strong pace in Friday’s sessions showing clear potential. Sadly, a run of DNFs during the heats meant he couldn’t complete any final sessions. It was a weekend of what could have been, but his early pace proves the speed is there. A reset and rebuild ahead of the next round will see him bounce back.

Molly Pugh looked confident from the start and her early laps proved she had the pace to compete. Starting P3 in the B Final, she was in a strong position but recurring engine problems, including persistent popping issues, made it near impossible to extract performance. A gritty effort in tough conditions and more experience banked for the next outing.

Harry Hurst-Grover showed flashes of top-ten speed and battled hard in his heats, but unfortunately picked up a string of penalties that pushed him into the B Final. Despite the setbacks, there’s no doubt Harry’s pace and potential are there. With a cleaner run, he’ll be fighting much further forward.

As the team packs up from one of the toughest circuits in the calendar, the message is clear. The speed is there, the effort is relentless, and the determination is building. TB Kart UK leave Rowrah with lessons learned, a podium in the bag, and a hunger to turn potential into silverware across the final rounds of the UKC season.
